Areas of Practice

I represent both businesses and individuals in a variety of non-specific commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts throughout Texas. Although my litigation experience is quite varied, my primary areas of concentration are:

Construction Law: Representation of general contractors, utility contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and owners in litigation and non-litigation matters involving commercial construction. I have defended or prosecuted a wide variety of construction claims throughout Texas, from simple bid protest involving governmental entities to complex multi-party litigation involving multi-million dollar projects. Non-litigation services range from contract negotiation and formation to the filing or removal of mechanic’s liens. A list of represented clients is available upon request.

Commercial Litigation: Representation of plaintiffs and defendants in a broad area encompassing most any non-criminal litigation related to businesses and partnerships, including business torts, contract disputes, trade secrets, shareholder actions, dissolution, and collections.

Real Estate Litigation: Representation of plaintiffs and defendants in matters affecting real property including enforcement of real estate contracts, boundary disputes, partition actions, and enforcement and termination of covenants and easements.

Probate and Guardianship Litigation: Representation of executors, heirs, guardians and wards in matters related to estates of deceased or incompetent parties, including will contests, will enforcement actions, and guardianship proceedings.

Entertainment Law: I have represented Texas bar owners for more than 20 years in most every facet of the entertainment industry, including acquisition or sale of an establishment, permitting and regulatory matters, TABC proceedings, and defending the establishment, its owners and personnel in ligation involving personal injury or business disputes.

Personal Injury: Representing select plaintiffs, and defending entities and individuals in personal injury actions involving assault, battery, dram shop claims, severe injury and death.

FINRA Arbitration/Securities Litigation: Representing select investors before FINRA in claims against financial advisers and broker-dealers concerning allegations of professional malfeasance, fraud, “unsuitability”, and "churning."
